Sistema Scotland believes that all children and young people in Scotland have great potential, skills and talents. Through its Big Noise programmes, Sistema Scotland uses music and nurturing relationships to improve lives and strengthen communities.
Their Big Noise orchestral programmes in Raploch and Fallin (Stirling), Govanhill (Glasgow), Torry (Aberdeen), Douglas (Dundee) and Wester Hailes (Edinburgh) work with over 3,500 children and young people, ranging from babies through to school leavers, helping them to realise their full potential through intensive and long-term engagement.
Sistema Scotland uses music to foster confidence, teamwork, pride and aspiration in the children taking part and across their wider community. Independent research has found that children's participation in Big Noise improves emotional wellbeing, enhances their ability to learn in school and helps children develop skills including listening, concentration, creativity and communications.
